This site (starpocketgames.com)
- Three languages. Switch between 日本語, 中文 and English in the top bar or the footer. The page's language tag changes too, so screen readers use the right voice.
- Light and dark. The site follows your device setting at first. If you switch with the button in the top bar, it remembers your choice.
- A button to stop motion. Anything that keeps moving on its own, such as the large slideshow, a video or cards that change by themselves, has a small ⏸ in its bottom-right corner. Press it to stop all motion on the page, and press it again (▶) to start it again. We don't save this choice, so things move again the next time you open a page. Decorative motion, such as twinkling stars, light and the colored shapes in the background, stops within 5 seconds (motion inside the large slideshow keeps going until you press the ⏸). If your device is set to reduce motion (on Windows, "Animation effects" turned off), nothing moves from the start, and the ⏸ is not shown.
- Keyboard friendly. The first Tab shows "Skip to content". The focused item has an outline. Esc closes menus.
- No sound. The videos on these pages have no audio.
- Zoom works. We don't block browser zoom (Ctrl and +, or pinch on phones).
- No cookies, no analytics. The only things kept in your browser are your language and your light or dark choice.
- Three appearance options. At the bottom of the page you can choose Match device, Light or Dark. Match device also clears the saved choice.
- Reduce transparency and Increase contrast. When these are on in your device settings, the frosted-glass parts turn solid and outlines get clearer.
StarPocket Client (v1.1.2)
- Language. In settings, choose Auto (your Windows display language), 日本語, 中文 or English.
- Reduced motion. Turn off "Animation effects" in Windows and the Client stops its animations too.
- Sound. In settings, mute the sound or change its volume. You can also turn sound off for each kind of notification.
- Keyboard. The focused item has an outline. Esc closes open panels. Use ← → to switch tabs.
- Windows high contrast. With a contrast theme, the Client uses your Windows colors and adds outlines where color alone was used.
- Display scaling. The Client draws at your Windows display scale (125%, 150% and so on).
PocketRoles (v0.5.6)
- Each player picks a language. Anyone in the lobby can type
/lang ja,/lang zhor/lang enin chat to change the language of the messages they receive. - Not by color alone. Role messages also name the team in words. Type
/cmd nat any time to see your role again. - Host keys. The host keys (F7, F8, F9) can be changed to other keys in the config file. To prevent accidents, F7 and F8 must be pressed twice within 3 seconds.
Known gaps
- Text sizes on this site are fixed, so the browser's font size setting has no effect. Please use page zoom instead.
- The StarPocket Client can't be zoomed. To make text larger, raise the Windows display scale.
- The StarPocket Client has no in-app button to stop motion. Use the Windows "Animation effects" setting.
- PocketRoles keys can't be changed from an in-game screen yet (edit the config file).
