The Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy and the Play Rules move to version 1.2 (from 8 October 2026)
We are moving the Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy and the Play Rules to version 1.2. We announced it on 2026-10-07, and it takes effect at 2026-10-08 00:00 (Japan time). The full texts are on the pages linked below this announcement.
What changes
- Admins and support members can read support requests. Admins and support members chosen by the author read requests for the teams they handle and help with replies. Only people who applied through "Join us" appear in the list for adding staff. There are no support members yet (Privacy Policy Article 2(4) and Article 11).
- Room restriction appeals. Appeals saying a restriction was a mistake are also read by Room Access Team staff, who write assessment notes and reply drafts. Staff can read only appeals received through the new form at or after 2026-10-08 00:00 (Japan time). Only the author sends replies, lifts restrictions and decides shared bans. Requests to delete records and reports about a host are read only by the author (Play Rules Article 10(4)(5)).
- We can also tell you about a reply by Discord DM. Only if you tick the box yourself. DMs go through Discord Inc. (United States). If you are under 16, please decide together with a parent or guardian (Privacy Policy 3.1, item 7).
- Records after someone stops being staff. The authenticator app key is deleted within an hour of removal. Records such as agreement to the staff pledge are deleted one year after removal (Privacy Policy Article 5).
- Applications for the Steam copy giveaway. Only the author and admins read them; support members do not see them.
Why the notice period is short
Terms of Use Article 26(3) says we announce changes that are worse for users at least 14 days before they take effect. Version 1.2 includes changes that could be worse for users, such as more people reading support requests. Right now, the only person other than the author who uses StarPocket services is one translation contributor who applied through "Join us", and we told them what 1.2 contains in advance. So it takes effect the day after the announcement.
The documents inside StarPocket Client are still version 1.0 in the current Client (1.1.2). The next Client release will update them to 1.2.
