v0.5.5 is out: records delete themselves after 30 days, and chat translation starts off.

Added 2026-10-02: v0.5.5 does not support the Among Us 2026.9.29 update (the game is now 64-bit). When a version that supports it is released, it will be listed in these updates. Regular Among Us works as usual.

v0.5.5 is out. Records now delete themselves, and chat translation and automatic reports start off. Aegis got stronger too.

Records delete themselves after 30 days

• Names, history, room codes and copies of sent reports are deleted 30 days after they are no longer needed. The host does not have to set or do anything.
• Evidence records are deleted 90 days after they are made. Records needed for a ban that is still in force are kept.
• The launcher and the tray app also delete logs older than 30 days.
• To have your own records deleted, type /cmd id in a PocketRoles room and send the code to the author once (a Discord ticket, or support@starpocketgames.com with the subject "erase my records"). The PC of each PocketRoles host deletes them the next time it gets the definitions file. Some things are kept; see the manual.

Chat translation and automatic reports start off

• Chat translation does not run until the host turns it on. While it is off, chat is not sent anywhere. To turn it on: "Chat translation" on the "Chat" page of the settings tab, or /opt translate.enabled on. (Added 2026-10-02: this is for a fresh install. For a host who upgraded from v0.5.4 or earlier and never changed the setting, it may still be on. /opt upgrade off turns it off.)
• Automatic reports to the official Among Us service also start off.
• Hosts who update from an earlier version are told once and can choose whether to turn them off.

Aegis

• NG words: for abusive or inappropriate messages, the first and second times give a warning, and the third time removes the player.
• Bans: a player removed for certain cheating is kept out of all of that host's rooms (30 days the first time, 180 days the second, no end from the third). Players the author adds to the list after checking the evidence are kept out of every room that uses PocketRoles. When a banned player joins, they are told so and removed after 30 seconds.
• Appeals: if you think it is a mistake, you can appeal. When the author accepts, the ban is lifted in every room that uses PocketRoles (v0.5.5 or later).
• Definitions file: the limits Aegis uses come from the definitions file on GitHub. The author signs it, and only a file with a matching signature is used.
• Ending the game: in unregistered rooms, when certain cheating changed the game, that game is ended.

Languages

• Chinese now uses the official Among Us terms (for example "伪装者" for Impostor).
• The mod's language follows the game's language by default.

Other changes

• Re-creating high-ping rooms is off by default again.
• When the author sets a "required version", older PocketRoles versions cannot create rooms. Joining other rooms and Freeplay still work.
